Cornerstone Family Dental Call

Your first visit

A conversation, not a checklist.

This page exists because we know you might read it more than once before you call. So here’s exactly what happens — in order — from the moment you pick a date.

The Cornerstone Family Dental waiting room — a woman and young boy reading magazines under large windows.

Step by step

What actually happens, in the order it happens.

  1. 01

    Paperwork comes to your phone.

You’ll get a link to fill out new-patient forms before you walk in. No clipboard at the door. The visit can start as a conversation, not as data entry.

  2. 02

    We check your blood pressure.

Standard part of every visit. Your mouth is part of your body, so we pay attention to both.

  3. 03

    You talk with your doctor.

This is the relationship visit. You tell us what brought you in, what’s been bothering you, what you’ve been avoiding, and what you’d like to be different. We listen.

  4. 04

We’ll show you what we see.

X-rays and an exam, walked through on the monitor. Treatment options explained in plain language with models, not jargon. You take your time. You ask anything.

  5. 05

    You get a plain-language estimate.

Before anything is scheduled. We’ll file insurance on your behalf and translate the rest into actual numbers. No surprises later.

For anxious patients

Scared of the dentist? Here’s how we handle it.

If the idea of sitting in a dental chair makes your stomach drop, you’re not alone — and we’ve built the visit around that. We don’t just say we’re gentle. Here’s what that actually looks like.

  • Show, tell, do.

Nothing in your mouth without telling you what’s coming first. We start outside the mouth, with no physical contact, and we narrate as we go.

  • Headphones welcome. Blanket welcome.

Bring your own or use ours. A support person in the chair next to you is fine too.

  • Explicit permission to stop.

Any time. For any reason. No explanation required. We pause. We talk. We restart only if you want to.

  • Conscious sedation, if you want it.

It’s available for the visits where you’d rather not be quite so present. We’ll talk through what it’s like before we schedule anything.

  • Multi-visit pacing.

If a full visit is too much, the first one can be just walking in and meeting us. Then a tour. Then a conversation. Treatment when you’re ready.

How costs work

Real transparency, not a price list.

We file insurance on your behalf.

Bring your insurance card and we’ll do the work. If something isn’t covered, we’ll tell you before it happens — not in a bill afterward.

You’ll see a plain-language estimate before anything is scheduled.

Numbers in dollars. Not codes. Not maybes. If your plan changes the math, we’ll re-do the estimate.

No insurance? Ask about the Membership Plan.

Our in-house, non-insurance plan is customized per family — not a one-size-fits-all package. Call and we’ll walk you through how it could fit.

We believe great dental care should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re proud to offer flexible financing options through Cherry and CareCredit — making it easy to get the care you need on a payment plan that works for you.

A front-desk staff member on the phone at the reception desk.

The same people who answer the phone are the ones who’ll talk you through the estimate.

For relocators

New to Hutchinson? We’ve been here since 1993.

If you’re moving into the area, here’s the short version: we can help you transfer your records, your insurance details, and your last X-rays from your previous dentist. Bring what you can — we’ll handle the rest.

Questions we hear

A few of the questions people ask before they call.

How long has the practice been here?
Since 1993. Dr. Dosch has been part of the practice since 2011 and Dr. Pittman since 2016. Many of our team members have been here even longer than that.
What if it’s been years since my last visit?
That’s most of the people we see for the first time. No lecture, no guilt. We’ll start with a conversation, get a baseline of where things are, and build a plan together at whatever pace works.
Do you take my insurance?
We file with most major dental insurance plans on your behalf. The fastest way to find out about yours: call us with your card handy, and we’ll check.
What if I have a dental emergency?
Call (620) 669-1032 — same number, day or after hours. We’ll triage you over the phone and work you in.
Will I see the same dentist every time?
Yes, as much as scheduling allows. Continuity is part of what makes the care work — your provider remembers your story, your treatment plan, and what you said last time.

Ready when you are.

Send a note or pick up the phone. Either way, we’ll start with a conversation.
